Real estate brokers aid Katie's House
SPARTA — Volunteers from the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage real estate office in Sparta recently worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters to collect clothing donations for Katie’s House, which provides homes and support for adults with developmental disabilities. The collection was part of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Day event.
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Ambassador Gina Lancellotti organized the clothing drive, which was held at the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office located at 24 White Deer Plaza in Sparta. Several bags of clothes, draperies and bedding were donated, and these will be sold by Big Brothers Big Sisters, with the proceeds benefitting Katie’s House through Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares.
Katie’s House is a small non-profit organization that provides supportive housing and services for adults with developmental disabilities. The Newton-based organization was founded by Conrad and Evelyn Dudziec, the parents of Katie Dudziec, as they were concerned about what would happen to their daughter when they were no longer here. There are presently two Katie’s Houses in Newton, one house in Stillwater and one in Kemah Lake. Two are for young women and two are for young men with Autism and other intellectual disabilities. Katie’s House provides opportunities for these individuals to enjoy the friendships of peers and to live with dignity. Learn more at www.katieshouse.org.
