Sparta. The new roof on the Sparta municipal hall is nearly complete, but was paused due to the recent snowstorm.
Township Manager William Close told the Township Council on Feb. 9 that the roof was about 95 percent complete, and is on hold right now because there is snow on the roof.
He said the roof still needs snow guards and other minor work, which includes putting the gutters on.
“I think it looks great,” Close said. “We’re fortunate that we got it on. The weather certainly would have wreaked havoc with the old roof.”
