Sparta restricts public access to municipal buildings through April 3
Public Health. Starting on Thursday, March 19 the public will have restricted access to Sparta municipal buildings to ensure the safety of Sparta residents and Township employees. For forms, applications, and services, visit spartanj.org or call 973-726-3600.
Sparta Township tonight announced that municipal offices will have restricted access for members of the public. This comes after the Sussex County Division of Health and a Sussex County Freeholder in a joint statement announced the first three cases of COVID-19 in Sussex County are in Frankford, Vernon, and Sparta.
The Township issued the following statement on its web site on Thursday evening.
To ensure the health and well-being of our employees and residents at this time, Sparta Township is restricting public access to all municipal buildings for the period of March 19th to April 3rd, 2020, during regular office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
Although public access to the municipal buildings is restricted to minimize person-to-person interaction, municipal business will be conducted via telephone and online. Please also be advised that Town Hall has a mobile drive-thru drop box in the lower level parking lot at 65 Main Street where payments, permits and applications can be dropped off. There is a small wall-mounted bulk drop box as well by the Police Department Entrance.
