The community of Sparta recently enjoyed the 36th Annual Sparta Day. The Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta has worked in conjunction with the Sparta Parks & Recreation Department to organize this event for many years. Our club members enjoy great satisfaction from volunteering their time and effort on this family event. We also have many people to thank for their help and support. Kids’ Country was free to the public again this year. This would not have been possible without the support of our local sponsors. Thank you to Eastern Propane for being our platinum sponsor of Kid’s Country for the fifth year. Thank you: Dr. G’s Health & Wellness, Bright Beginnings, Newton Memorial, Pottery Pizazz, Kiddie Academy, Dr. Pamela Alberto DMD, Advocare Sussex County Pediatrics, Aurora Electrical Supply, First Hope Bank, Karl’s Appliance, Laddey, Clark, & Ryan, Service Electric, & Wellness Center Pediatrics each having signed on to help defray the costs of the children’s entertainment area. The club sincerely thanks these local businesses for their support. The Jewelry Raffle and Tricky Tray was a new addition for 2011. They were both very successful with many people from the community walking away with wonderful prizes. Thank you to J. Thomas Jewelers for the generous donation of the $1000 gift card and to all the businesses that donated prizes for the event. In addition to our partnership with the Sparta Parks and Recreation Department, there are many groups in our community who contributed to making Sparta Day a success. Thanks to the Sparta Volunteer Fire Department for providing the fire engine, Lovenburg for donating two portable toilets, Grinnell Industries for donating a dumpster, the Sparta Police Dept for directing traffic, and to Ralph D’Aries, for coordinating the food concession. Lastly, we would like to extend a special thank you to all the vendors who also helped to make the event a success. Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta
