Newton - Sussex County Community College will host a dual exhibit from Jan. 20 through Feb. 28, featuring works by Roy Kehl, stained glass artist, and Katherine Yvinskas, mixed media botanical artist. Kehl is a self-taught artist who describes his work as “soul satisfying.” His creations are bold and precise, yet viewed as delicate. His pieces are used by many interior decorators and are owned by many private collectors. Yvinskas has had a life-long interest in nature. Plants and gardens have been the main source of inspiration for her work. She has had solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, and articles published featuring her work. Her passion is in working in paint, graphite or the print form. The opening reception featuring the artists will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, in the Gallery at SCCC. The Gallery is located in building C on the Newton Campus. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. For information, call 973-300-2329.
