New York poets to read at SCCC
SUSSEX COUNTY To celebrate National Poetry Month, the Idiom Reading Series at Sussex County Community College will present two New York poets, Walter James Miller and Jared Smith, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 29. Walter James Miller is a poet, playwright, translator, critic, and professor of English at New York University. His most recent production is a DVD of his verse drama, "Joseph in the Pit." Miller is also noted for his 40-year effort to restore serious interest in the work of Jules Verne, for which he was awarded a plaque by the Library of Congress. Jared Smith is the author of five published books of poetry, including "Song of the Blood," "Dark Wing," "Keeping the Outlaw Alive," and "Walking the Perimeters of the Plate Glass Window Factory."
