Performers come home for the holidays
MUSIC. Meg Rilley performs at Stockholm restaurant, and From Good Homes plays two shows at the Newton Theatre.
Friday, Dec. 20
Sussex County’s Meg Rilley returns home from Nashville to perform an acoustic set with guitarist Leighton Thomas at 4 p.m. at Tony’s Family Restaurant, 2771 Route 23, Stockholm.
Enjoy soulful selections from Jeiris Cook at 6 p.m. at the Lafayette House, 75 Route 15.
Or catch Mark Coulter’s intimate set at McQ’s Pub at Lake Lenape, 165 Andover Sparta Road, Newton, at the same time.
At 6:30 p.m., Krogh’s Restaurant & Brew Pub, 23 White Deer Plaza, Sparta, hosts Bryan Ramirez, a versatile artist often called a “human jukebox” with more than 2,500 songs in his repertoire.
The Rick Barth Band takes the stage at Brick & Brew, 27 Route 23, Franklin, at 7 p.m.
At 8 p.m., head to the Newton Theatre, 234 Spring St., for a high-energy performance by From Good Homes, a band whose lively blend of genres has made them local legends. Known for their infectious energy and tight musicianship, the band members, who grew up in Sparta, have shared stages with acts such as Bob Dylan and the Dave Matthews Band. Cap off the night with an Ugly Sweater Party and karaoke at 9 p.m. at O’Reilly’s Pub and Grill, 271 Spring St., Newton.

Kevin Rupert brings rock and blues vibes to Angry Erik Brewing, 2 Camre Drive, Newton, at 4 p.m.
Enjoy Sue Polcer’s keyboard-driven pop and rock tunes at the Lafayette House at 6 p.m.
Frankie Goes to Dollywood, the best little ’80s bluegrass band, plays at at Brick & Brew at 7 p.m.
John Cain performs an acoustic set at McQ’s Pub at the same time.
At 8 p.m., From Good Homes returns for night two at the Newton Theatre. With more than 1,500 shows under their belt, the band’s iconic “Hick-Pop” style is perfect for a night of feel-good music.

At 2:30 p.m., head to Angry Erik Brewing, for an acoustic classic rock performance by Victor Fiore.

Showcase your talents or enjoy local performers at open mic night at 6 p.m. at the Homestead Rest, 294 N. Church Road, Sparta. Signups begin at 5:30 p.m.
Catch Mike Oregano at Krogh’s at 6:30 p.m. A true one-man band, Oregano combines reggae, hip hop and jazz in a captivating performance. Using loopers, bass splits and synthesizer sounds, he builds an entire rhythm section live, layering drums, solos and vocals for a head-turning musical spectacle.
