Spend a day learning about Wallkill River Watershed

    SPARTA — The Sparta Historical Society will sponsor a guided tour of the Wallkill River Watershed led by Nathaniel Sajdak on Oct. 14. The tour will start at 9 a.m. and finish at 3 p.m. The wonders of the Wallkill River Watershed, from its headwaters at Lake Mohawk to the Oil City Road Canoe Access in Warwick, N.Y., will be the subject of the day-long excursion. Nathaniel Sajdak, the Coordinator of the Wallkill River Watershed Management Group will be the tour leader. The group will travel in a fully equipped coach, pausing alone the way to have lunch at a local restaurant and to visit the Franklin Mineral Museum. The coach will leave from the Lake Mohawk Country Club parking lot at 9 a.m. and will return there at approximately 3 p.m. Tickets for the tour and lunch cost $40 per person.
