Branchville man gets 90 days in jail

Anthony Frato Jr., 48, of Branchville was sentenced to 90 days in the Morris County Correctional Facility and fours years probation on April 6 by Judge Michael Gaus of the state Superior Court in Newton.

He also must complete 200 hours of community service and pay $205 in fines and fees.

Frato previously was sentenced on a related driving while intoxicated charge. He lost his driver’s license for four months and is required to use an interlocking device for 12 months, to complete 12 hours of classes at an Intoxicated Driver Resource Center, and to pay $690 in fines and fees.

He pleaded guilty on Feb. 1 to charges of assault by auto and DWI. He admitted driving under the influence of alcohol which led to him striking the victim with his car.

Aggravated assault charges

Mark Kanaley, 33, of Newton pleaded guilty to two counts of fourth-degree aggravated assault on April 17.

He admitted committing the crime of aggravated assault about Jan. 25 in Fredon. The case was investigated by the New Jersey State Police.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 19.

Drug charges

Raymond Adams, 33, of Highland Lakes pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance and his violation of probation on April 4.

He admitted having fentanyl and cocaine.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 17.

Shoplifting, resisting charges

Adam Abdelatif, 30, of Clifton pleaded guilty to third-degree shoplifting and fourth-degree resisting on April 5.

He admitted taking various items totaling more than $500 from the Franklin Wal-Mart. He also admitted fleeing to prevent a law enforcement officer from making an arrest.

Plea to obstruction

Jon Bradberry, 47, of Delaware pleaded guilty to fourth-degree obstructing the administration of law on April 18.

He admitted committing the crime of obstruction about Sept. 17 in Sandyston. The case was investigated by the New Jersey State Police.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 19.
