Brooklyn man sentenced to year in jail
NEWTON. Abdullo Karimov, 25, admitted operating a motor vehicle on June 16, 2021, in an attempt to elude the Sparta police.
Abdullo Karimov, 25, of Brooklyn was sentenced to 364 days in Morris County Correctional Facility and three years of probation on July 13 in Superior Court in Sussex County.
He will do community service and have his driver’s license suspended for two years after he is released. And he was ordered to forfeit a motorcycle.
Karimov pleaded guilty on May 22 to third-degree eluding. He admitted operating a motor vehicle on June 16, 2021, in an attempt to elude the Sparta police after he received a signal to stop. He also admitted driving recklessly and having no insurance for the motorcycle.
6 months in jail
Anthony Neglia, 28, of Stillwater was sentenced on July 7 to 180 days in the Morris County Correctional Facility and probation for three years. He will receive credit for 84 days already served in jail and conditional on him providing written confirmation of full-time employment, he will be permitted to serve the rest of his jail sentence on consecutive weekends.
He must provide a DNA sample and was ordered to have no contact with the victim and must complete the DECIDE program.
Neglia pleaded guilty on June 5 to fourth-degree contempt, simple assault and a violation of his existing probation for contempt.
He admitted causing bodily injury to the victim on April 14, then entering the victim’s home in Stillwater the next day and unlawfully removing items. He had been ordered to have no contact with the victim.
2 years of probation
Sean Marone, 22, of Stanhope was sentenced on July 7 to probation for two years and 25 hours of community service. He also submit to random urine monitoring.
Marone pleaded guilty on May 10 to fourth-degree resisting arrest. He admitted preventing a law enforcement officer from arrested him by fleeing after he was ordered to stop.
Credit-card theft
Sabir Mandil, 37, of Hempstead, N.Y., pleaded guilty on June 30 to fourth-degree theft.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 28.
Mandil admitted to using a credit card, which belonged to his former employer, to obtain services on his vehicle.
