Sounds of the Shore come to Sussex

Catch local legends, emerging talents and electrifying performances across Sussex County this week.

Friday, April 12

Gerry Arias is set to rock the stage at McQ’s Pub at Lake Lenape, 165 Andover Sparta Road, Newton, at 6 p.m.

At 6:30 p.m., Montclair singer-songwriter Matt McMickle will bring his acoustic selections to Krogh’s Restaurant & Brew Pub, 23 White Deer Plaza, Sparta.

James Vilade will take the stage at Bell’s Mansion, 11 Main St., Stanhope at 7 p.m.

Down the street at the Stanhope House, 45 Main St., Dave Fields and Friends will be delivering ferocious blues rock and beyond. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

For those craving nostalgia, Brick & Brew, 27 Route 23, Franklin, hosts the Irish Handcuffs, performing ’90s rock covers, at 7 p.m.

The Harrisons will ignite the stage at the Irish Cottage Inn, 602 Route 23, Franklin, with their high-energy rock duo performance starting at 7 p.m., while Milk Street Distillery, 1 Milk St., Branchville, offers a night of musical bingo.

For a legendary experience, head over to the Newton Theatre, 234 Spring St., where Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes are set to perform at 8 p.m. With more than 30 albums, this local legend promises a night of raucous, roots-tinged rock and bluesy reverie. End the night on a high note at O’Reilly’s Pub & Grill, 271 Spring St., Newton, where karaoke enthusiasts may take the stage at 9 p.m.

Saturday, April 13

Angry Erik Brewing, 2 Camre Drive, Newton, invites patrons to indulge in the melodic tunes of Bill Ruddy, offering a blend of Southern rock and country melodies, at 4 p.m.

At 6 p.m., the Lafayette House, 75 Route 15, sets the stage for singer-songwriter and local favorite Maribyrd.

McQ’s Pub will host Almost Autumn, a rocking duo covering classic rock, blues and country hits, at 7 p.m.

At the same time, Brick & Brew welcomes back Duck Face, and Milk Street Distillery sets the mood with the Harrisons’ soulful duo tunes.

Ippy & the Project will shine with its unique blend of rock ‘n’ roll, country and blues at 7 p.m. at the Stanhope House.

Kashmir, the nation’s No. 1 Led Zeppelin tribute band, is set to take the stage at 8 p.m. at the Newton Theatre. Known for its authentic representation of Led Zeppelin’s iconic sound and stage presence, Kashmir guarantees an unforgettable experience for fans of the famous band. The Beacon, 453 River Styx Road, Hopatcong, features the tunes of the Grey Man Group starting at 9 p.m., while O’Reilly’s offers the lively tunes of Monkey and the Engineer, blending Irish pub tunes with acoustic Americana.

Wednesday, April 17

Midweek blues? Not with these musical offerings.

At 5 p.m., McQ’s hosts Sean Henry for his weekly Wednesday night show.

Simultaneously, the Black Ties take the stage for Danny C’s Wednesday night concert series at Blue Arrow Farm, 86 Glenwood Road, Pine Island, N.Y. The band guarantees a rock ‘n’ roll dance party.

At 6:30 p.m., the Homestead Rest, 294 N. Church Road, Sparta, invites patrons to join Ray Sikora for a fun-filled karaoke evening.

Thursday, April 18

At 6 p.m., head back to the Homestead Rest for an open mic night, with sign-ups starting at 5:30 p.m.

The Early American Tavern, 9 Main St, Sussex, welcomes John Sheehan for an evening of acoustic delights at 6:30 p.m.

Krogh’s hosts Bryan Breathes (Bryan Ramirez), also at 6:30 p.m. With a repertoire spanning contemporary hits, classic rock, hip-hop, country and show tunes, he promises an eclectic musical journey.

At 7 p.m., the Glenwood, 2 Vernon Crossing Road, Vernon, presents Kyle Hancharick and his acoustic tunes.
