Woman faces DWI, assault by auto charges in crash
WEST MILFORD. Jessica Lima, 38, of West Milford and David Thierman, 71, of Sparta both were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police say.
Jessica Lima, 38, of West Milford was charged with driving while intoxicated and other offenses June 10 after a serious motor vehicle crash near 190 Lakeside Road, police said.
Lima was flown by helicopter to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson with serious injuries.
David Thierman, 71, of Sparta was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph’s with internal injuries.
Police said a 2006 Toyota two-door sedan driven by Lima crossed the center line and struck a 2015 BMW X5 driven by Thierman about 4:20 p.m.
Alexandrova Marina, 58, of Sparta was a passenger in Thierman’s car. She had minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
Lima also was charged with third- and fourth-degree assault by auto, speeding, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to keep right and failure to wear a seatbelt.
She is to appear in Superior Court in Passaic County.
