Augusta - Four High Point Regional High School June graduates have awarded four individual scholarships by the Educational Foundation for High Point Regional High School. The total amount of scholarships awarded for 2011 was $3,000. The scholarships were awarded to Amanda Hayes, Gabrielle Bianca Gutierrez, Matthew Decker and Miranda Lynn Savioli. The scholarships were awarded to students who have distinguished themselves by their commitment to community service. Two scholarships were awarded to graduates who plan on attending Sussex County Community College and two to graduates who will be attending other institutions of higher learning. “The selection process was very difficult”, said William Kehoe, a local attorney and Educational Foundation Board Member who chairs the committee, “because there are so many deserving students who have many hours of community service that are graduating from High Point. We are honored to be associated with a high school that encourages community service because these students represent the next generation that will provide governance over the Educational Foundation when it’s their turn to lead.”
