Barbara Murphy Gabat

Barbara Murphy Gabat, 78, of Lakewood, NJ, formerly of Hoboken, NJ, passed away on Monday, Feb. 12.
Barbara worked as a secretary in various positions, the last being at the Sheraton Hotel, in New York City.
In her spare time, Barbara was an avid reader.
Barbara is predeceased by her parents, Dorothea and Michael Carmody; five sisters: Dorothea Farrell, Lorriane Considine, Joan Zambardino, Jane Barrett, and Carolyn Carmody; and her brother, Michael Carmody.
She is survived by her beloved husband Alex Gabat; and devoted sisters: Patricia Barker of Sparta, NJ and Jacqueline Carmody of Hoboken, NJ. Barbara is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, Feb. 15, from 5-8 p.m. at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ 07871. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 16 at 11 a m. at the funeral home.
