Gunter B. Frauenpreis

Gunter B. Frauenpreis of Rockaway passed away suddenly on Friday, March 4, 2016, at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover. He was 57.

Born in Passaic, Gunter resided for many years in Sparta, recently moving to Rockaway in 2010. He was a self-employed entrepreneur in sales of goods and services. He was president of the Sussex County Sports Hall of Fame, a past Sparta Board of Education member, and a coach for his children’s sports activities, both for boys and girls, for many years.

Gunter is survived by his beloved wife of eight years, Dawn (Wernicki) Frauenpreis of Rockaway; his sons, Carl Frauenpreis of Rockaway, Patrick Ahlers of Andover, Tyler Ahlers of Rockaway, and Zachary Ahlers of Virginia Beach, Va.; his daughters, Lynn and Laura Frauenpreis of Sparta; his mother, Barbara Garth of Somers Point; two brothers, Kurt Frauenpreis of Washington state, and David Garth of Somers Point; and one sister, Kimberly Price, of Altadena, Ca.

Family and friends are invited Monday evening, March 7, from 5-9 p.m., at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Sparta.
