Margaret Rose Carambatos
Margaret Rose Carambatos, 78, of Sparta, NJ passed away peacefully at home, on July 31, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Marge was born in Brooklyn, New York and lived in Harrison, NJ before moving to Sparta, where she has been a resident for 41 years ago. She worked alongside her husband in their business, Alumigraphics Inc., in Nutley, NJ until the time of his death in 2003. Marge and her husband Mike were instrumental in helping begin the Valerie Fund while their young daughter Lisa was battling cancer. Marge was very active in the Sparta community and was the past president of the PTA at Helen Morgan School in Sparta. She was involved in starting “Project Graduation” for Sparta High School. Marge worked with her daughter and son-in-law at Rita’s Ice in Sparta. She thoroughly enjoyed her family vacations at the Port Royal Hotel in Wildwood Crest, NJ and her many trips to Disney World. Most of all she loved being with her family anywhere. They were the love of her life. She will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Marge could always be found on the sidelines of her grandchildren’s games as she was their biggest fan. Her favorite pastime was spoiling her grandchildren. Marge is predeceased in life by her daughter Lisa Carambatos; beloved husband Michael and her siblings: Michael and Charles Corrigan. She is survived by her devoted daughter Vicki Foley and her son-in-law, Bill who she considered her son of Sparta. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren and the apple of her eye: Jacqueline and Michael Foley. Also surviving are her sisters Ellen Crilley and Mary Avalone, as well as many cherished friends and family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Friday at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 427 Stanhope Rd, Sparta, NJ 07871.
