Mary Van Haste
Mary Van Haste of Newton, N.J., died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at Morristown Medical Center. She was 88.
Mary was born and raised in her childhood home in Haledon, N.J., to the late Frederick and Amelia (Fourneyron) Joosten. She worked as a beautician for many years and owned VanMaries in Haledon; however, Mary’s career pride laid in her ownership of the Monaco Motel in Wildwood for 30 years prior to her retirement in 2005. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Hawthorne. Mary was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, family was everything to her.
In addition to her parents, Mary was also predeceased by her husband, William Van Haste Sr.; and her siblings, Virginia Vervet, Judy Joosten and Albert Joosten.
She is survived by her sons, Rick Van Haste and wife, Donna, and William Van Haste Jr. and wife, Adele; her grandchildren, Heather Ruxton, Kenny Van Haste, Rick Joseph Van Haste, Kory Davis, Brittany Pfaffenberger and Kristoffer Van Haste; eight great-grandchildren; and her brother, William Joosten.
Services were to be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101.
