Thomas McGuire

Thomas McGuire, 84, of Asheboro, NC, formerly of Sparta, NJ passed away on October 31, 2017 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Tom was born in Dover, NJ along with his twin brother Charlie. He was a proud US Army Veteran and a 40 year member of the Sparta Township Fire Department. Thomas also worked for Sparta Township DPW for many years, prior to that LE Carpenter in Wharton NJ and Mennen in Morristown NJ. He was an avid sports fan who followed the NY Yankees and NY Giants but loved being with his family the most. He is predeceased in life by his two brothers: William R. and Charles A. McGuire. Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Gloria Jean McGuire, devoted children: Thomas Robert McGuire, Sandra Lee Reilly, and Debra Lynn Mendez. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Angevine. Of Bakersfield CA, 6 grandchildren Allie Mendez, Andover NJ, Devin and Noah Reilly of Frankford Township NJ and Morgan, Ryan and Madison McGuire of McKinney TX Friends called on Monday at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871. A funeral service was held Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment followed at the Northern NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Sparta, NJ 07871.
