Ronetco Supermarkets awards scholarship to High Point grad

Ledgewood — Ronetco Supermarkets, Inc., has awarded the $2,000 Distinguished Achievement Award to Jean Marie P. Carroll, daughter of Maria Carroll, a ShopRite of Franklin associate since 1999. Carroll, a Wantage resident, is a senior at Northeastern University, where she is majoring in Spanish with a minor in secondary education. At college, she earned the National Society of Collegiate Scholars Merit Scholarship Award and Northeastern University’s 2006 President’s Award. She is also a member of Barkada (Filipino American Student Association), Pep Band, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Northeastern University Husky Ambassadors, Modern Languages Club, Future Educators Club, Northeastern University Cultural and Language-Learning Society, and The Academy. She also participates in volunteer activities at college. During her tenure at Northeastern, Carroll has earned this scholarship and one of Ronetco’s $1,000 Scholarships previously. Carroll is a 2003 High Point Regional High School graduate. This year, Ronetco awarded its associates or their children ten scholarships totaling $16,000 and awarded nearly $100,000 in college tuition reimbursement last year. All Ronetco associates are eligible for tuition reimbursement. The scholarship program, started in 1996, is open to eligible associates or their children and is managed by an independent scholarship company.
