Vernon — In February of 2006 Danielle Quaranta and Lauren Parise of Vernon lost their mother Cecelia Parise to breast cancer. Because of the special care that Cecelia received at Chilton Memorial Hospital, the daughters decided they wanted to give back. In memory of their mother, the sisters, with the help of Cecelia’s sisters and nieces, created the Cecelia’s Angels Fund to benefit patients of the Chilton Memorial Comprehensive Breast Center. Recently, the committee held their third annual Cecelia’s Tea Time at Portofino Family Restaurant in Oak Ridge. All funds raised at this event will be used to help the breast cancer patients at the center as they undergo rehabilitation. The Tea Time raised $4,000 for the Chilton Memorial Hospital Foundation, generated by basket raffles donated by committee members as well as Silpada representative Alicia Johnson of Green Pond, New Market Transportation of Warwick, N.Y., and Maddux Jewelry Designs of San Diego. For the past three years, the event was held exclusively for family members and close friends who contributed to Cecelia’s Angels. The daughters plan on expanding the Tea Time to the public next year. “My sister and I, as well as my aunts and cousins, are so happy to be able to give back to other women afflicted with this horrible disease. Our mother was a wonderful woman. This fund is a way to continue to spread the kindness and generosity she once carried in her heart,” said Danielle Parisi.
