Douglas Harte, a Sparta orthodontist and former resident, was presented the Gerald A. Devlin Award by the MidAtlantic Society of Orthodontists on Sept. 22 at the annual session in Washington, D.C.
That is the highest award given in orthodontics for distinguished service and significant contributions to the orthodontic and dental health of children and adults.
Harte also presented a lecture titiled “How the Power of Unity Advances Your Success.”
“It has been an honor serving the residents of Sparta and Sussex County,” said Harte, son and partner of longtime Sparta orthodontist Larry Harte. “My dad and I have treated over 25,000 patients and we are now seeing third-generation kids.”
Douglas Harte is a past president of the Orthodontic Society, a clinical professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and a lobbyist for the Orthodontic Society and Small Business in Washington.
