Sylvan Learning, which provides supplemental and enrichment education for students in grades K-12, has opened its newest franchise location at 14A Main St., Sparta.

It is locally owned and operated by George Crescione. He runs several family-owned businesses, including a real estate acquisitions business, school portraits studio and a marketing company.

Crescione found Sylvan Learning through the real estate company.

“I researched several businesses that might fill an open storefront in the heart of Sparta, and Sylvan was the perfect fit,” he said. “Not only does it complement my other businesses, but it also fills a glaring gap for a one-stop resource of supplemental education support in our community.”

As a former teacher, he was impressed with Sylvan’s advanced technology-based curriculum featuring trackable progress. “Those are key factors that will stand out to families in our community looking for the best possible support for their kids.”

Sylvan’s tutoring approach and curriculum are designed to give each student a personalized, trackable plan to achieve their educational goals.

“We’re proud to offer Sparta an all-in-one resource for students to access throughout their academic journey,” said Susan Valverde, brand president of Sylvan. “We’re confident George will make a lasting impact in his community for generations to come.”
