    August 28 Tyrone Ellison, age 19, of Newton, pled guilty to the third degree crime of eluding, the disorderly persons offense of criminal mischief and to a motor vehicle ticket for using a cell phone. He is scheduled for sentencing on Oct. 27. Ellison admitted to failing to promptly pull over when signaled to do so by N.J. State Trooper J. Kazan after the trooper went to stop him for having a broken windshield on a vehicle belonging to Lisa Gottshall. Ellison admitted to using a cell phone while operating the vehicle. David Benton, age 20, of Hamburg, pled guilty to the third degree crime of accomplice liability to possess heroin. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 20. He admitted that on July 21, 2005, he assisted Sarah Greenwald and Brett Hosking to obtain heroin in Newark by directing them to a street dealer. The case was investigated by Sparta Township Police Officer Cpl. Louis Tackacs. Aaron O’Connor, age 24, of Hamburg, pled guilty to the third degree crime of possession of heroin, fourth degree tampering with evidence and a motor vehicle for failure to inspect. He is scheduled for sentencing on Oct. 27. He admitted that on Jan. 12, he possessed a bag of heroin and also swallowed a bag of heroin during the course of a motor vehicle stop by Sparta Police Officer Richard Smith. Brenda Hopping, age 46, of Dover, pled guilty to the third degree crime of possession of heroin. She is scheduled for sentencing on Oct. 27. She admitted to possessing a small amount of heroin that was seized by Hopatcong Police Officer Joseph Magrini on July 12 when the police responded to the home of another individual regarding Hopping’s overdose. Roger E. Johnson, age 31, of Wantage, pled guilty to eluding, a third degree crime. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 27. On April 29, after being observed by a Sheriff’s officer apparently sleeping in a parked vehicle with the engine running, the defendant attempted to elude the officer and was chased by officers from the Sussex County Sheriffs Office from Sussex Borough into New York State. N.Y. State Police got the defendant to stop when they ran into his vehicle. Alysehia DeLucca, age 24, of Hopatcong, pled guilty to the two counts of third degree possession of cocaine. She is scheduled for sentencing on Oct. 27. She admitted to possessing a vial of cocaine in Byram on Jan. 24, following her arrest by Police Officer Victor Marin. She also admitted to possessing two bags of cocaine on June 7 in Sparta following her arrest by Officer Marc Rubino. August 29 Juliana Hoffman, age 26, of Franklin, pled guilty to theft, a fourth degree crime. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 20. The conviction stems from a break in at the defendant’s mother’s, house on July 1. 2005, where Hoffman and a co-defendant, Breu Hosking, stole a camcorder and a framing gun. Hosking previously pled guilty and is awaiting sentencing. August 30 William R. Teets, Jr., age 40, of Newton, entered a guilty plea to an accusation charging him with a fourth degree charge of possession of child pornography. Teets admitted to the court that on or about April 4, 2003, he had knowingly possessed numerous images of children engaged in prohibited sexual acts or in simulation of such acts and that he did so by storing those images on his computer and on computer discs. The case was investigated by Newton Police Department and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office computer crime unit. Teets is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 27, 7.006.
