10 receive High School Caring Awards

Ten high school students received the prestigious High School Caring Award, presented by the Sussex County School Counselors Association, during a breakfast gathering May 10 at Sussex County Community College.

The students were selected for their demonstration of a caring attitude toward their school environment and the wider community.

Their guidance counselors nominated them for their acts of kindness, empathy and selflessness.

The recipients are Olivia Barragan of Pope John XXIII Regional High School, Emily Beltrani of Sussex County Technical School, Julie Curtis of Kittatinny Regional High School, Stephanie Gianuzzi of High Point Regional High School, Ryan Nicol of Newton High School, Amarin Parham of Sparta High School, Lillian Papendick of Lenape Valley Regional High School, Thomas Galvez Perea of Hopatcong High School, Lily Tobachnick of Wallkill Valley High School and AnnaBella Tozzi of Vernon Township High School.
