8-year-old sings National Anthem at baseball game

SPARTA — Natalie Sophia Torres, 8, of Sparta, sang the National Anthem on Aug. 5 at the Skylands Stadium.

Back on May 3, Natalie participated and took first place in the Sussex County Idol contest at Sussex County Community College, which was sponsored by the Sussex County chamber of commerce on Sussex County Day.

The President of the Sussex Chamber of commerce contacted Nathalie shortly after winning the contest and told her that the Skylands stadium wanted her to sing the national anthem at one of their home games.

Natalie was very excited and agreed to do it.

On Aug. 5, Natalie sang the National Anthem for the Sussex Miners. Friends and family came to support her.
