An inside look: Industry, New Jersey’s hottest new restaurant opens in Sparta

Industry opened for those “in the know” July 14. The new multi-million-dollar establishment in North Village hosted approximately 80 patrons for a soft opening; the gold standard for unveiling a dining experience where service is paramount.

A cool, laid back sister restaurant to Mohawk Steak House, Industry offers specialty cocktails, and a curated menu featuring elevated American favorites: from top-shelf burgers with truffles to high end Wagyu frites.

“It’s unlike anything else in the county or the state,” according to Sparta Deputy Mayor Josh Hertzberg, who has travelled throughout the country. “It’s putting Sussex County on the map.”

Spanning over 20,000 square feet, the new restaurant is outfitted with industrial accents, expansive outdoor dining, exposed beams and a modern, warm atmosphere. It’s a gastropub unlike others, and offers the top tier service and quality that people have come to expect from owners Steve and Rachael Scro.

To ensure a seamless opening, Mohawk Steak House’s elite team members are running the show at Industry for the next two months. “Hiring new employees dedicated to great service is especially difficult right now,” said Steve Scro. “The only way to ensure customers will get the kind of experience we’re known for was to move my A-team from Mohawk Steak House to Industry.”

Mohawk Steak House will be open exclusively for private parties from July 20 to September 8 during Industry’s grand opening. This allows Scro and his management team to spend 100% of their time at Industry launching the restaurant and onboarding staff. Mohawk Steak House will hold a grand re-opening September 9 for a la carte dining and private parties just in time for the fall and holiday rush.
