Annual Where's Waldo scavenger hunt is back

SPARTA — Brought back by popular demand for the fourth summer in a row, Sparta Books is hosting the Annual Where’s Waldo scavenger hunt in Sparta.

Sparta Books has teamed up with 25 local businesses to help with the hunt.

It is a fun way to promote the "Shop Local" message and bolster a shared sense of community in Sparta.

The Where's Waldo Scavenger Hunt is a month-long hunt for Waldo hosted by Sparta Books in July.

Sparta Books champions the Shop Local message by enlivening the community with a scavenger hunt activity to which everyone, children, parents, and Waldo-lovers of all ages, are invited to participate.

On July 1, Waldo-spotters will set off on a hunt to find the elusive character hidden around 25 businesses in Sparta. The participating businesses will have a Waldo sticker in the front window of their store and a Waldo standee hidden inside their store.

When you spot Waldo, get your passport signed from the store employee and check it off your list. When you collect 10 different signatures, bring them to Sparta Books to claim a prize.

When you collect all 25 signatures bring them to Sparta Books to be entered in a drawing for a deluxe set of Waldo books and other prizes.

All Waldo participants will be eligible for prizes culminating on July 30 at 5 p.m. with a grand finale party held at Sparta Books.

The registration fee is $5, which includes Where's Waldo glasses, Where’s Waldo button, Where’s Waldo postcard and stickers and the Where's Waldo Scavenger Hunt list.
