County's senior citizen art show coming soon

— The Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council will be holding its annual Senior Citizen Art Exhibit July 30th through September 3rd. This exhibit is open to all Seniors 60 years of age and older that reside in Sussex County. The artwork will be judged and the winners will go forward to the New Jersey state exhibit at the Meadow Lakes Senior Community in East Windsor. There the Sussex County artwork will be judged along with entries from other participating counties. The Windsor show opens to the public on Thursday, September 22nd and will run through Thursday, October 27th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or by appointment), and the Awards Ceremony and Closing Reception will be held on October 28th.
The categories for the exhibit include: Acrylic Painting, Craft, Digital/Computer Art, Drawing, Mixed Media, Oil Painting, Pastel, Print, Photography, Sculpture and Watercolor.
This year is the 50th Anniversary year for the state senior art exhibit and Sussex County has been a participant for most of those years as the Arts and Heritage Council is celebrating their 45th anniversary this year.
