The Sparta Elks recently made several donations to area charities. They gave both the The First Presbyterian Church food pantry and the food pantry at the First Baptist Church of Newton each $500 worth of food. “Both pantries serve Sussex County and the volunteer’s do an outstanding job helping those in need,” said Pete Appaluccio, Sparta Elks ENF Chairman.
The also gave $1000 to Jamie Bernard of DASI of Newton. The funding is made possible from a grant provided by Elks Nation Foundation.
“Since the down turn in the economy the past few years the Sparta Elks feels the need to assist various organizations throughout our community,” said Appaluccio.
