Lauren D. Fraser, Esq. Partner at Laddey, Clark & Ryan, LLP was appointed by Chief Justice Rabner and New Jersey State Bar Association President Miles Winder to serve on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee examining the potential implementation of the Uniform Bar Exam for New Jersey.

“I am honored to be selected to serve on this committee,” states Fraser. “This is an important issue for attorneys anticipating being licensed in New Jersey.”

The New Jersey Supreme Court has formed the Ad Hoc Committee on the Uniform Bar Examination to study available literature on the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) with particular emphasis on the report authored by the New York Advisory Committee. They will also examine any issues unique to New Jersey. The committee will provide a report detailing its findings and recommendations to the Supreme Court early next year to determine if New Jersey should adopt the UBE for attorneys.

“New York’s transition to the UBE will have a substantial effect on law students who want to be licensed to practice law in New Jersey,” Chief Justice Stuart Rabner said. “The committee will carefully study this issue and recommend whether New Jersey should adopt the UBE.”

Since joining Laddey Clark & Ryan in 2004, Fraser has worked in Personal Injury focusing on spinal injury cases. As part of a trial team, Fraser helped obtained two of the largest jury verdicts for personal injury cases in Sussex County history.

Fraser has been recognized on the NJ Monthly Magazine Super Lawyers list for personal injury. The National Trial Lawyers Association has awarded her a position as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in New Jersey. Fraser has also been honored as one of Sussex County’s “20 under 40” for her outstanding business and community involvement. In 2012, Fraser was recognized as a New Leader of the Bar on the New Jersey Law Journal’s “50 under 40” list.

Associate Justice Jaynee LaVecchia will chair and retired Associate Justice John E. Wallace Jr. will serve as vice chair of the Supreme Court Ad Hoc Committee on the Uniform Bar Examination.
