Golf and festivities for Lake Mohawk women's group

SPARTA — A spectacular October 1 provided the backdrop for the Lake Mohawk Golf Club Women's Association Closing Day festivities.
Prior to the annual meeting members were treated to a delicious brunch served up by Chef Joe Mucerino in collaboration with Social Chair Julie Killen who added a fall theme to the dining room with beautiful mums gracing the tables. President Melva Cummings opened the annual meeting and thanked the many members for their dedication and work throughout the year. A round of applause went to Lynne Kanofsky for her hole-in-one on the very difficult 9th hole. Valerie Horan was congratulated for being Club Champion. Many activities were highlighted, including Sally Bertellotti chairing Tuesday lunch and MahJongg, Pattie Cronin offering Cooking Classes with Chef Joe, Leslie Plifka organizing a trip for dinner and The Honeymooners play at the Papermill Playhouse, Dana Nolan offering a Paint and Sip evening (as you sip your wine an artist will provide instructions on how to paint your wine glass) and Claire Gallagher and Maureen Racioppi leading the Book Club group.
Jewelry was the trophy prize for this year's golf winners, David Yurman bracelets, beautiful pearl necklaces and watches. J. Thomas Jewelers was the shopping mecca for Cathy Lorentz, Prize Committee Chairwoman. Lynne Kanofsky dreamed up a fun-filled golf format for those participating after the meeting. First place Winners were Judy Savage, Barbara Urso, Lynne Kanofsky and Eileen Hartman.
Cocktails and complimentary hors d'oeuvres were served after golf.
