Hilltop students win DAR essay contest
SPARTA. Students in grades 5-8 were asked to write from the perspective of a female who participated in the tea parties of the Revolutionary War period.

Students in grades 5-8 at Hilltop Country Day School in Sparta participated in the annual Daughters of the American Revolution essay contest.
They were asked to write from the perspective of a female who participated in the tea parties of the Revolutionary War period.
Winners at the local level for the Chinkchewunska Chapter of DAR:
Grade 5: Mikayla Bautista, first place, and Blake St. John, third place.
Grade 6: Ahrin Kabse, first place.
Grade 7: Katie Tedesco, first place; Arjun Kabse, second place; and Abby Iussig, third place.
Grade 8: Hunter Dorman, third place.
