Limecrest Quarry changes hands

LAFAYETTE — The quarry known as Limecrest, started by Thomas Edison more than 100 years ago, and subsequently operated by several different companies is now being run by the Braen Family.
Upon purchasing the land and quarry business, the Braen’s named the new enterprise Braen Stone of Sparta.
Currently, Braen Stone is manufacturing crushed granite products, which are available for sale. Eventually, however, the product offering will also extend to crushed limestone products, as well.
