Local student dominates at chess tournament

SPARTA — Reverend Brown student Wes Brown won all four of his games from a field of more than 16 players during a recent chess tournament.

He is a valuable member of the Reverend Brown Chess Club, which meets weekly after school.

In addition to its Chess Club, Reverend Brown has had a successful After School Club Program for many years. The clubs include Art, Guitar, Physics, Track, Drama, as well as Kids Take Action Club, which is a service club that encourages students to take action to better our community through service to others.

The After School Club Program has been a valuable tool to enhance the school’s curriculum and to foster valuable friendships.
