Five students at Pope John XXIII Regional High School have been commended or advanced in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Senior Anika Rodrigues has advanced to the semifinals. She and other semifinalists have the opportunity to advance to the finalist level of the competition, win a National Merit Scholarship and earn a Merit Scholar title.
Seniors Reagan Healy, Ethan Lu, Spencer Moser and Caden Niziol were named Commended Students. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.
Although they will not continue in the 2024 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, the Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the competition because of their 2022 PSAT scores.
