Registration under way for annual Krogh's Turkey Trot
SPARTA — The Sparta Education Foundation’s Thanksgiving morning fundraiser on Thursday, November 23 marks the 11th anniversary of the Annual Krogh’s Turkey Trot, one of Sparta’s best-loved events which has become “The Tradition Before The Tradition.” It’s a memorable way to spend Thanksgiving morning with other members of the community who share the common goal of supporting strong public schools. Registration is now open for the 2017 Turkey Trot.
Runners can register online at kroghsturkeytrot.com or download the form at that website and mail it to The Sparta Education Foundation, PMB 126, 270 Sparta Avenue #104, Sparta, NJ 07871. All mail-in registrations must be postmarked by Saturday, November 18.
The packet pick-up and free pasta party for registered participants takes place on Wednesday, November 22 from 5p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Lake Mohawk Country Club. Packets can also be picked up the morning of the race beginning at 7 a.m. in the Lake Mohawk Country Club Ballroom. The pasta party is catered by Villa Capri II, a Silver Sponsor of the Turkey Trot.

The 1-mile Fun Run will start at 8:15 a.m. All participants will receive a medal at the completion of the run. The 5K will begin at 8:45 a.m. Both routes kick off in White Deer Plaza and follow East Shore Trail alongside Lake Mohawk. Each registered participant will receive a goody bag while supplies last.
