SCCC Board votes 7-2 to censure Jerry Scanlan, and to remove him as Board Vice Chair

Sussex County Community College (SCCC) Board tonight voted 7-2 to censure Jerry Scanlan and to remove him as Vice Chair.

Scanlan is Chair of the Sussex County GOP. At a previous SCCC Board meeting members of the public deemed retweets by Scanlan from the GOP Twitter handle as racist and xenophobic retweets, and cited them as reason he should resign or be removed from the Board.

The cited tweets referred to U.S. Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ayanna Pressly (D-MA), and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
