Helen Morgan fifth-grader Shannon Huhn performed at Carnegie Hall on June 5.
Shannon participated in her first piano competition in April and was selected to play at the renowned music venue.
She attends Lindeblad School of Music in Pine Brook, N.J and her paino teacher is Wayne Weng who has from The Eastman School of Muisc, Mannes College of Music, Guildhall College of Music and Drama and Yale University.
Two hundred students from Lindebald participated in the competition and 15 pianists were selected.
Shannon performed Allegro from Sonatina by Muzio Clementi and A Slow Waltz by Dimitri B. Kabalevsky.
She began her piano studies in first grade with Joan Farrington of Sparta.
"I am grateful to my teachers and my sister Eileen who helped me prepare," said Shannon.
Shannon also plays cello in the Sussex County Youth Orchestra and was selected to the NJSMA Elementary Orchestra for the past two seasons.
While not practicing the piano, Shannon enjoys swimming, singing and playing with her friends.
