Sparta VFW open for meetings, rentals and more

SPARTA — VFW Post 7248 has been continuing with renovations this summer and in the meantime has been making excellent use of the updated main hall, pub and meeting room.
“We are still working on the game room and the front of the building but we hope to have that completed by the Fall,” said Pete Litchfield, commander of the Post. “Friday night barbecues have been a great success this summer. The last one of the season will be this Friday August 26 from 5 to 7 p.m."
The post has been a hub of activity lately, hosting events such as zumba classes and line dancing as well as paint & sips, while holding regular pub hours.
“The pub is now open 7 days a week from 4pm until closing. Saturdays we show college football and Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays pro football with a light menu,” Litchfield said.
The hall (complete with a kitchen and bar access) can also be rented for birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries, business and athletic team meetings as well as dance and art classes. Here's the upcoming schedule:
