Heidi Lozano of Newton completed certification courses in medical administration and is working on her computer and English speaking skills.
Through the fundraising efforts of the Sparta Woman’s Club, two students were awarded a total of $4,000 in scholarships to attend Sussex County Community College.
The recipients were referred by Project Self-Sufficiency.
As a freshman this fall, Leah Moncayo of Newton will study horticultural science, stressing the uses of plants as natural medicines.
Heidi Lozano of Newton has completed certification courses in medical administration and is working on her computer skills through courses in Microsoft Office Suite and improving her English skills through English as a Second Language courses.
The club’s next general meeting is at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 at the VFW Hall in Sparta.
