For the fifth consecutive year, the St. Leonides Columbian Squires Circle from St. Kateri parish in Sparta participated in the annual New Jersey Alzheimer’s walk at Liberty State Park in Jersey City.
Past Chief Squire Frank Cutrone served as walking team captain for the Sparta youth group. Cutrone leads this event each year in honor of his grandfather Frank who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.
Walking team members included Squires Ben Insley, Sebastian Gomez, Dominick Bartolomeo, and Will McKenna along with guest walker Alessia Nestico.
Over the five-year period, the team has raised more than $9,000 to help provide support to the caregiver respite program provided by the New Jersey Chapter. The respite care program provides supportive services to more than 350,000 families in New Jersey who are impacted by the disease.
The Saint Kateri Squires would like to thank all the families and friends that supported their fundraising efforts. Cutrone would also like to thank both the Saint Kateri Knights of Columbus and the New Jersey Knights State Council for their ongoing support and encouragement.
