State squire and rose officers elected at 2012 annual meeting

Saint Kateri parish in Sparta recently hosted the annual 2012 New Jersey State Squires meeting. Members of the St. Leonides Circle #5177 (from St. Kateri), the Christopher DeLalla Circle #2192 (from St. Jude’s in Budd Lake), and Don Bosco Circle (from St. Joseph’s in Newton) attended the meeting along with members of Squire Rose Circle #NJSR001 from Saint Kateri. Several Knights along with district deputy Charlie Farrie also attended.

The meeting began with an opening prayer by Deacon Tom Zayak from St. Joseph’s. Saint Kateri Chief Squire Frank Cutrone welcomed State Squires Chairman Peter Briody, who ran the meeting along with State Deputy Chief Squire Ben Insley. The main purpose of this meeting was to elect new officers for the 2012-2013 fraternal year.

Congratulations to the following Squires who were elected to their new state officer roles: Ben Insley (State Chief Squire), Jon Rohe (Deputy State Chief Squire), Tom Petrocelli (State Notary), Brendan Puszcz (State Bursar), Danny Lubertazzi (State Marshall) and Neil Merkel (State Sentry). Also congratulations to Squire Rose officers Nicole Regelski (Chief Squire Rose) and Kalin Hagedorn (State Rose Secretary) who were among those present elected to officer positions. Other Squire Rose state officers include Tara More (State Deputy Chief Rose) and Samantha Vertucci (State Rose Treasurer).

The Columbian Squires are the youth division of the Knights of Columbus for young Catholic men ages 10-18. The Squire Roses are the youth division for young Catholic women ages 10-18.
