Storm update

SPARTA — According to police, numerous township roads are closed with both trees and power lines down. Power is out throughout the township. Emergency responders are working off generators.

Between 7 and 11 p.m. last night, Sparta Police handled over 250 9-1-1 calls. Police also suffered a computer crash this morning, but expect their system to be up and running shortly. Route 15 is open. People are advised that dozens of road closings have made getting around difficult and dangerous.
