Troop 95 attends Sabattis Adventure Camp

This past August, six Boy Scouts and two leaders from Sparta Troop 95 embarked on a backpacking journey on the Northville-Placid trail, starting from the Sabattis Adventure Camp in Long Lake, New York. On this trek, the scouts and leaders accomplished 44 miles in a matter of 4.5 days, while carrying up to 45 lb of equipment on their backs. After seeing beautiful lakes and sunsets, climbing steep mountains, and crossing a suspension footbridge, the group arrived back at base camp. The next day, every scout slept for the majority of the five-hour trip back home to Sparta. After all, that is what a week of bears, mosquitoes, black flies, bees, dehydrated food, blisters and walking at least nine miles a day does to you. Troop 95 will definitely visit Sabattis again.
