Homecoming Princess as sophomore, recipient of the William Calvani Award for citizenship. Will major in nutrition at the University of North Carolina.

She will major in business at West Virginia University with an eye toward becoming a litigation lawyer.

SPARTA — This year's Miss Sparta Pageant — which marks the 75th year anniversary of the pageant — will take place on Tuesday, June 26, at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at the Lake Mohawk Country Club.

The girls will be judged on community service/school involvement, poise and confidence, appearance, personal interview with each judge held privately, and public speaking. three out-of-town judges (with no connection to any of the contestants) will make the decision.

The winner will advance to Queen of the Fair at the Sussex County Fair and NJ Farm and Horse Show held on Aug. 4 in Augusta.

Miss Sparta 2011, Adrienne Marcino will pass her title on to this year's winner.

In addition to the pageant, the event will feature entertainment by Geoff Doubleday, as well as cash bar, refereshments and light fare.

Tickets are available for $15 at Ailish Alpine Paint Store on Woodport Rd., or at the door for $18. All are welcome to attend.
