Morristown — The Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey (VNA), a leading nonprofit home care provider since 1898, began serving residents of Sussex and Warren Counties earlier this month, following its acquisition of certain assets of VNA of Saint Clare’s from Prime Healthcare.
“Our organization has a history of pioneering and excelling in the field of home care and we’re delighted to be expanding our mission of caring and our geographic reach,” said Faith F. Scott, MPH, MBA, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer of the VNA of Northern NJ. “This acquisition is an ideal fit because it’s a natural outgrowth of our long, productive relationship with the Saint Clare’s Healthcare System and its network of providers.”
“In today’s complex, rapidly evolving healthcare industry, strategic growth through acquisitions and consolidations that create efficiencies of scale, facilitate greater coordination and foster quality and customer service enhancements are crucial,” she said. “This transaction will contribute to the continued vitality of our VNA and ensure access to the finest quality home care for residents of more than 100 municipalities across Morris, Hunterdon, Sussex and Warren Counties,” she said.
Clients of VNA of Saint Clare’s will receive care without interruption, in most cases from the same personnel, and the roster of services offered in Sussex and Warren Counties will continue to include skilled nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapy, certified home health aides and telehealth. However, the base of operations for VNA of Northern NJ’s entire service area will be its 30,000 sq. ft. headquarters at 175 South Street, Morristown.
“VNA of Northern NJ has thrived for 119 years and successfully served the home care needs of multiple generations. This acquisition is a milestone in our storied history. It also underscores the strength of our organization and its ongoing ability to keep pace with changing times,” Scott said.
