What's more fun than being pelted with rotten tomatoes?

ANDOVER — A Tomato Hoedown, sponsored by Spirit of the Arts Foundation and held at Sunset View Farm, provided a generous amount information and activities centered around the tomato. There were demonstrations, workshops, classes, shopping and the highlight of the day — a rotten tomato fight.

Sunset View Farm owner Linda Grinthal joined in the tomato fight (as well as giving canning demonstrations and harmonica lessons).

From a fresh corn salad to soap making classes to local vendors, there was something for everyone.

The on premises community garden was a popular spot, filled with butterflies, bees and an abundance of ready-to-pick vegetables.

Storm clouds and heavy rains only added to the craziness of the rotten tomato fight in the field.

The tomatoes used in the fight were overripe and were used as compost after the fight was over.
