Mini piano solo recital

The Sussex County Music Workshop’s third, 17 minute mini piano solo recital included presentations by seven students of owner Margaret Korczynski. Students had a year to prepare for this event and some of them had their programs memorized. The students performed on intermediate, and advanced levels. There were advanced pieces by Beethoven, Chopin, Burgmuller, Bach, Handel, Clementi, Kabalevsky, Joplin and other composers. The systematic and frequent exposure to playing in public helps young pianists to develop performance skills. The ultimate goal is to perform an hour solo recital which can be also recorded on a CD. Several students have used these recordings while applying to colleges, as music or music education majors.
