Man faces aggravated sexual assault charge
NEWTON. Xavier Izquierdo, 54, also charged with two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Xavier Izquierdo, 54, of Newton was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, said acting Sussex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray, Chief of Detectives Thomas McCormick and Newton acting Police Chief Joseph D’Annibale.
The arrest came after an investigation by Newton Police Department and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit.
Izquierdo also was charged with two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child by causing or permitting a child to be portrayed in a sexually suggestive manner, one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child by possession of child sexual exploitation or abuse material and one count of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact.
He has been incarcerated since his arrest Oct. 29.
First-degree aggravated sexual assault carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.
