Runners score at prestigious indoor track meet

JERSEY CITY-The Sussex County Bears youth running program turned in outstanding individual performances at the prestigious Tommy Burns Invitational Indoor Track meet, Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Jersey City Armory. Thirteen-year-old Tim Paziora, of Newton, competed in three distance events, as well as a relay, and ran close to personal best times in each. Paziora won the 13-14-year-old 3,000-meters in 11:02 and, just an hour later, won his heat in the 13-14-year-old 800-meters in 2:37 before finishing third in the mile in 5:43. Eleven-year-old Cameron Roshler, of Fredon, won both the mile and 800-meters in the 11-12-year-old division. Roshler ran 2:31 in the 800 meters and 5:39 in the mile. He also won the shot put with a toss of 35 feet, 5 inches. Stillwater's Drew Reinhardt also participated in three individual events, placing within the top five in the boys 11-12-year-old division with a 12:19 in the 3,000 meters, and a 3:01 in the 800 meters, and 6:26 in the mile. Roshler's sister, Cait, finished third in the girls 9-10-year-old mile, running 7:01, and was fourth in the 400 meters in 90.6. Roshler also won the girls shot put event with a throw of 15 feet, 5 inches. Fredon's Greg Masters placed very well in the 15-16-year-old sprint divisions, running the 200 in 30.0 and the 400 in 72.8. Cameron Roshler, Paziora, Reinhardt, and Masters concluded the meet with a second-place showing in the 4x400 meter relay.
